'Captains of Industry' Roundtable with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim of Malaysia

UKABC Chair Lord Vaizey and Chief Executive Ian Gibbons OBE joined senior UK business leaders for a ‘Captains of Industry’ roundtable hosted during the visit of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim of Malaysia to the UK.
The Prime Minister’s timely visit, taking place as Malaysia takes on the chairmanship of ASEAN, was a unique opportunity to showcase the potential for even deeper UK-Malaysia trade and investment collaboration. Malaysia is particularly focused on pushing forward digital technology, and in recent months has made clear its ambitions to increase investment and focus on artificial intelligence, working closely with the UK on a number of initiatives. Substantial investment from Malaysia into the UK continues, as well as deepening links between businesses of all kinds and sizes.
The UK-ASEAN Business Council looks forward to supporting the deepening of the UK-Malaysia and UK-ASEAN bilateral relationship during 2025.
