Vietnam Ambassador meets UKABC Chief Executive to discuss future cooperation and to share an update on the plans for the International Financial Centre in Ho Chi Minh City

London - Ian Gibbons OBE, the Chief Executive of UK-ASEAN Business Council (UKABC), recently met with His Excellency, Mr. Do Minh Hung, Vietnam Ambassador to the United Kingdom to discuss further deepening Vietnam’s bilateral ties with the UK.

The Ambassador noted Vietnam’s strong economic growth and growing bilateral goods trade with the UK (USD 8.5 billion in 2024). This performance supports Vietnam’s goal of achieving double-digit growth and further strengthening the bilateral trade and investment relationship between the two countries.

During the meeting, the Ambassador highlighted sectors including financial services, renewable energy, and emerging technologies and the high-speed train line currently under construction, as key drivers of future economic growth.
