UK-ASEAN Business Forum 2025

Over 120 senior industry and government figures from across ASEAN and the UK gathered in person for the UK-ASEAN Business Forum 2025 – UKABC’s annual flagship event in support of UK-ASEAN bilateral trade, investment, and government engagement.

Remarks by Minister Catherine West, Parliamentary Under-Secretary at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO)

The Chair of UKABC, The Rt Hon. the Lord Vaizey of Didcot, welcomed Minister Tengku Zafrul Aziz from the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry of Malaysia. The Minister was joined by a senior Malaysian business delegation, led by Tan Sri Nazir Razak, Chair of ASEAN BAC Malaysia.

UKABC was also delighted to welcome Baroness Jones of Whitchurch, Minister from the Department for Business and Trade (DBT), as well as The Rt Hon. The Lord Mayor of the City of London, Alderman Alastair King alongside an esteemed line up of panellists including Martin Kent, His Majesty’s Trade Commissioner for Asia Pacific; James Crabtree, Distinguished Visiting Fellow at European Council on Foreign Relations; Dr. Linda Yueh CBE, Economist at University of Oxford and London Business School; Stephanie Betant, Head of Global Trade Solutions at HSBC UK; Mallika Ishwaran, Group Chief Economist at Shell.
