UKABC’s Business Roundtable with Cambodia’s CPTPP Task Force
London, Wednesday 10 September 2025, hosted by KPMG
UKABC’s Chief Executive moderated a roundtable discussion with Cambodia’s CPTPP Task Force led by H.E. Dr. Sok Siphana, Senior Minister, and Chairman of Cambodia’s Trade Policy Advisory Board (TPAB).
Attended by UKABC partners Brand Finance, KPMG and Newcastle University, alongside senior officials from the Department for Business and Trade and policy experts from the University of Sussex and FTI Consulting, this roundtable formed part of a wider UK Government-led programme to support Cambodia’s assessment of the potential impacts of Cambodia’s accession to the CPTPP.
Dr. Sok Siphana outlined how this visit forms part of Cambodia’s in-depth analysis of the economic opportunities, policy implications, and institutional readiness required for membership. The UKABC moderated conversation with business and academia was open and transparent offering practical insights and perspectives drawn from business experience. These timely views from business and academia will support Cambodia as it gathers their assessments and consultations and evaluate their position.
Key takeaways included the important role CPTPP must play in protecting rules based global trade and CPTPP’s position as an important pillar within Cambodia’s development path on its journey to graduate to Developing Country status by 2029.
Our thanks to UKABC Partner KPMG for hosting this roundtable.
