UKABC meeting with the ASEAN London Committee of Ambassadors and High Commissioners

The UKABC team met with the ASEAN London Committee (ALC) at the Royal Thai Embassy on 4 September for the latest in our regular discussions on strengthening UK-ASEAN trade and investment ties.

The meeting was chaired by H.E. Mr Nadhavathna Krishnamra, Ambassador of Thailand to the UK, and attended by ASEAN Ambassadors and High Commissioners, alongside UKABC CEO Ian Gibbons OBE, COO Ben Raby and Public Affairs Director Harry Bell.

Discussions followed up on priorities agreed at our inaugural meeting earlier this year, including opportunities to strengthen ASEAN engagement across the UK and develop more sector-focused engagement between ASEAN missions and UK businesses. We also discussed developments across individual ASEAN markets and the wider UK-ASEAN trade relationship.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to meet at least every six months and continue identifying practical areas for collaboration including joint UK regional engagements.
