The UKABC presentation, led by Pak Donny, highlighted several suggestions for the ASEAN Secretariat’s consideration to strengthen ASEAN’s FDI attractiveness:

  • Enhance regulatory harmonisation and transparency by harmonising standards and regulations, overcoming non-tariff barriers and upgrading linking agreements such as the ASEAN Comprehensive Investment Agreement and the ASEAN Framework Agreement on Services.

  • Invest in Green and Sustainable Infrastructure and Digital Connectivity.

  • Leverage emerging technologies and digitalisation to foster ASEAN’s region’s competitiveness post-2025.

  • Support ‘ASEANification’ of Supply Chains, Sustainability, Skills Development, and Private Sector Collaboration.

In concluding the UK input, Mr Donosepoetro reconfirmed the UK and UKABC’s commitment to continuing to work side by side with ASEAN to build a more integrated, competitive, digital and sustainable ASEAN, driving economic growth and prosperity for all.
