Benoy is an award-winning firm of Architects, Masterplanners, Interior and Graphic Designers. Founded in 1947, the British firm began life designing local agricultural buildings, but today its work impacts some of the most significant cities across the globe. With a team of over 500 people, working out of offices in the UK, Middle East, India, China and Asia, the company is perfectly positioned to serve its discerning – and ever growing – global audience. Benoy’s global reach extends to over 50 countries.

Benoy brings together design integrity, international experience, local understanding and real personality to create the unique Benoy offer. The company’s ability to marry imagination with realism, underpinned by a real respect for local heritage, history and geography, is a winning formula around the world.

Whilst continuing to develop its excellent reputation in the Retail and Mixed-use markets, Benoy is now achieving widespread recognition for its Urban Regeneration expertise and increased acknowledgement within the Hospitality & Leisure, Residential, Transport and Workspace sectors.

Benoy is deeply proud of its roots and indeed its UK portfolio that includes landmark projects such as Bluewater in Kent, Bullring in Birmingham and Westfield London. The company now, however, sees some 70% of its business realised overseas, with schemes such as Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, UAE, Supernova, India, ION Orchard, Singapore and Elements Mall, Hong Kong, defining the company’s truly global presence.

In April 2013 Benoy celebrated being named as winners of the Queen’s Award for Enterprise – the UK’s highest accolade for business success. Having previously won in 2008, this is the company’s consecutive Award in the category of International Trade and so perhaps even more significant, acknowledging both commercial excellence and consistency.

Benoy in Southeast Asia

Asia is an incredibly creative and dynamic environment for Benoy. Since entering the market in 2002 with the appointment to design the now iconic Elements Mall in Hong Kong, Benoy’s presence has grown and the company is now well-established and well-respected with numerous prestigious awards and accolades to its name.

Following success in China and Hong Kong, Southeast Asia was the natural next step in the company’s expansion and the opportunity to design and deliver Singapore’s ION Orchard in the heart of the city was perhaps the catalyst to Benoy’s success in the wider region. Benoy’s commitment to Southeast Asia was demonstrated further by the opening of offices in Singapore in 2009 and in Kuala Lumpur in 2012.

The Southeast Asian market demands innovative and distinctive architecture and Benoy has become recognised for its contemporary yet enduring design. Adding value to both new and existing projects, the Team takes its responsibility to contribute to the economic, environmental and social sustainability of a region seriously. Benoy strives to create more than just buildings; its desire is to create true destinations.

For Benoy, entry to any new market is always based on thorough desk and field research. Influenced by the locale in terms of culture and commercial practice, Benoy’s strategy and ultimate success in Southeast Asia, did not happen overnight. With conversations and commissions now underway in Burma, Indonesia, Malaysia, The Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam, Benoy is truly committed to both the more established and now emerging markets of this most vibrant part of the world.

As a proud Partner of the UK-ASEAN Business Council, Benoy is dedicated to the successful collaboration of investment and development opportunities throughout the region.
