About Us

The UK-ASEAN Business Council (UKABC) is the leading UK-based organisation promoting trade and investment between the UK and ASEAN’s dynamic markets.

Created out of UK Trade & Investment’s 2011 Strategy ‘Britain Open for Business’, the UKABC was launched by the then Business Secretary, the Rt Hon Vince Cable in November 2011.

We are passionate about helping UK companies of all sizes build new contacts, provide market insights and raise awareness of the vast commercial developments in what is undoubtedly one of the most exciting, vibrant and fastest growing regions in the world.

Working closely with the UK and ASEAN governments, key partner organisations including the British Chambers of Commerce in ASEAN, influential corporates, experienced SMEs, market experts, and professional services providers, we have created an extensive UK-ASEAN business network that links UK innovation and expertise with ASEAN’s commercial developments.

We also bring ASEAN to the UK through a sustained calendar of country briefings, targeted meetings with ASEAN decision-makers, and promotional events. In addition, we signpost practical advice and guidance on how to do business in ASEAN and can provide access to a considerable network of useful contacts.
