Seeking solutions for drowsy driver detection
Deadline for application:
Fri, 20 May 2016
An organisation is seeking a solution to detect the drowsiness level of drivers as they move containers around the clock.
An organisation is engaged in a business where drivers are needed to move containers around. This is done around the clock by shifts. There is a recent increase in accidents due to drivers dozing off while driving. We are seeking a solution as one of the mitigating action we hope to put in place. This solution is to be installed, deployed and integrated with the existing hardware set-up within the vehicle, to be able to detect the drowsiness level of the driver. The solution monitors and shall be able to determine when a driver dozes off while driving, and sounds an alarm or execute some other suitable action to instantly awaken the driver, thereby preventing a possible vehicle accident caused by drowsy driving.
Solution to be deployed onto an existing Win 7 embedded platform which a driver data terminal is currently running. Solution should include a suitable camera to integrate with the existing hardware to collect images for the detection if required. The detection system shall work both in normal and very low lighting condition, i.e. driver driving at night. The monitoring and determination of drowsiness level shall be in real-time.
