The Department of Transportation and Communications is inviting interested local and international groups to participate in the bidding of the PhP65.09 billion (USD 1.8 billion) Light Rail Transit (LRT) Line 6 project under the Philippine Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Program.

The Philippines’ Department of Transport and Communication (DOTC) is inviting local and foreign bidders for the proposed 19km light rail line that will connect Bacoor City and Dasmarinas City areas.

LRT 6 project is the proposed 19 kilometer railway from Niyog, Bacoor to Dasmariñas City. It will be connected to the DOTC’s existing LRT-1 Cavite extension project.

Seven stations are proposed in the alignment along the Aguinaldo Highway which includes Niyog; Tirona; Imus; Daang Hari; Salitran; Congressional Avenue; and Governor’s Drive.

The project will improve passenger mobility and reduce the volume of vehicular traffic in the Cavite area by providing a higher capacity mass transit system. It also aims to spur economic development along the extension corridor.

The project consist of the following:

1. Architectural, detailed engineering, systems design and construction of 19km rail line from Niyog, Bacoor City to Dasmariñas City;
2. Procurement, Testing and commissioning of all required rolling stock, equipment and support infrastructure;
3. Operations and maintenance of LRT 6 System to ensure Minimum Performance Service Standards; and Project enancement works covering whole of investments for LRT Line 6 project.

The project will be procured following a competitive two-stage public bidding process in accordance with R.A. 6957 as amended by R.A.7718 or the Philippine BOT Law and its Implementing Rules and Regulations.
