UK-ASEAN Business Council were proud to organise Day 2 in the 8th edition of the ASEAN Global Leadership Program (AGLP) in London, with a full day of out-of-classroom events, beginning with a visit to HSBC in Canary Wharf to hear their views on the global economy and the latest developments in UK-Southeast Asia trade.
The group held a lively discussion on Brexit and its implications for the future. This was followed by a visit to the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) with a presentation on the role of the LSEG and recent listings of Komodo Bonds by Indonesian state-owned enterprises.
Later in the afternoon, the group toured the House of Commons with a warm welcome by MP Richard Graham, who is the Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy to Indonesia, Malaysia and The Philippines.
The day’s events hosted by UK-ASEAN Business Council ended with a business networking dinner in the iconic Churchill War Rooms in Westminster. The guests included Dr Rizal Sukma, Indonesian Ambassador to the UK; Martin Hatfull, Vice Chairman of UK-ASEAN Business Council; MP Richard Graham; Ross Hunter, Executive Director of UK-ASEAN Business Council and UK business leaders whose companies have operations and investment interests in the ASEAN region.
