BritCham Philippines leads 50 Mission delegates to explore business in Davao City, Philippines

In line with the government’s efforts to decentralise and boost economic activities, BritCham Philippines led a two-day Trade and Investment Mission to Davao last 30-31 March. A total of 50 delegates joined the Mission to explore business opportunities in Mindanao and meet relevant business contacts. The delegates represented cross-sector industries with most of them from the high priority sectors in Mindanao such as infrastructure, transportation, agribusiness, ICT/BPO, and energy. The Mission was led by BCCP Chairman Chris Nelson, British Ambassador Asif Ahmad, Philippine British Business Council Co-Chairman Ambassador Jesus Tambunting and PCCI President George Barcelon.

Main highlights of the Mission include business matching, networking reception with Davao Chamber, site visits to economic zones/ homegrown industries like ANFLOCOR, and the Mindanao Trade & Investment Forum which brought together over 120 businesses/ entrepreneurs. Some of the participating companies include GSK, Pru Life UK, Unilever, DMCI, KPMG, PwC, PAL, MRAIL, HSBC, PLDT, thyssenkrupp, Allianz PNB, Standard Chartered, AstraZeneca, ARUP, Britishwater, Energy Island Bell Pirie, JLT Insurance Brokers, Seagard, Boskalis, Voltcom, Anpario, Belle Corporation, PNB, BDO, YLF Contracts and Costs Solutions, Gluon, BPI, SM Investments, SGS, Bold Native Advisors and Jardine Distribution.

Networking Coffee with Davao Chamber
