We are delighted to be welcoming Allen Lai to the UKABC family.

Coming from Brunei, Allen is very familiar with Southeast Asia and has almost 20 years of experience working on geopolitical trade-related platforms in Asia. Prior to joining UKABC, he was involved in delivering the APEC CEO Summit, Asia Pacific’s largest business event.

As our new Director – Partnerships and Programmes, Allen will be looking to create further opportunities and value for our Partners and further develop an exciting corporate programme.

Executive Director Ross Hunter said, “There is huge interest in Southeast Asia’s 10 diverse markets and so I am thrilled Allen has joined the team. Allen will be a huge asset and help us enhance our offering and amplify the opportunities in ASEAN to UK companies.”

When asked about his first days in the role, Allen commented, “I am very excited to be joining the wonderful team of the UK-ASEAN Business Council at a time when the UK is looking to strengthen its engagement with ASEAN. I look forward to working together with all our partners and stakeholders to develop new opportunities for engagement in the dynamic UK-ASEAN relationship.”
