As COVID-19 restrictions start to be relaxed in Vietnam and Laos, Pingu’s English staff in both Southeast Asian markets have this week been getting their schools prepared – ready to welcome their students back to continue their English language training studies in their Pingu classrooms.

During the COVID-19 lockdown, Pingu’s English partners worldwide, including those in Vietnam and Laos, have been running virtual Pingu’s English classes while schools have been closed. Pingu’s English headquarters have also been supporting parents with free daily learning activities and storytime videos through Pingu’s English at Home to help keep their children engaged in their learning and entertained.

Pingu’s English Vietnam launched their first Pingu’s English school in early 2019. They now have three schools in Hanoi and Hai Phong. They also plan to offer Pingu’s English’s international kindergarten program to Vietnamese parents, as well as opening other Pingu’s English schools nationwide. Pingu’s English Laos launched their own flagship school in Vientiane in 2019. Their high profile launch was attended by Mr John Pearson, HM British Ambassador to Laos and Ms Sara Wheeler MBE, the Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy Relationship Manager for Southeast Asia.

Pingu’s English is a global education franchise in twenty countries across Asia, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East. There are over 35 Pingu’s English schools and kindergartens across the ASEAN region including in ThailandCambodia, Myanmar and Indonesia, and over 250 Pingu’s English schools worldwide including in China, Italy and Brazil. The brand offers a four-level English enrichment program for young children, plus a three–year full-time international kindergarten curriculum developed with Kingston University.

Pingu’s English and Direct English is owned by the UK-based Linguaphone Group which has over 115 years of experience in the language training market.
