The Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) has revamped the guidelines on incentives for multinational corporations (MNCs) seeking to establish or expand their presence in ASEAN or the Asia Pacific region through a Malaysian Principal Hub plan. The incentives are structured in three tiers based on various criteria including minimum annual sales, employment, annual business spending and other qualifying activities.

MNCs interested in applying for the Malaysian Principal Hub incentive must submit an application to the Malaysian Investment Development Authority. Incentives are valid for five years upon approval and may be extended for a period of five years thereafter.

For more information on the criteria and other qualifying requirements, please refer to attached guidelines. Do contact the British Malaysian Chamber of Commerce (BMCC) at sridaran@bmcc.org.my if you’d like to further discuss this matter with our trade team.
