UKABC Digital Conversation Series

Natalie Black – Her Majesty’s Trade Commissioner for Asia Pacific, kicked off the UK-ASEAN Business Council’s Digital Conversation Series with UK business on the challenges facing the region. The online conversation, moderated by UKABC’s Chair, Baroness Neville-Rolfe, provided an opportunity for UKABC partners to both hear first-hand about the UK government’s strategy and share their challenges and future outlook.

The issues discussed covered the regional outlook, commodity price and currency shocks, energy and sustainability and how digitisation and digital trade are progressing at a significant pace that may permanently change the way we do business.

These are unprecedented times and the Trade Commissioner was at pains to convey that DIT is there to help UK business and encouraged UK business to get in touch with the team by emailing dit.apac@fco.gov.uk.

This Digital Conversation, the first in a curated series, saw senior executives sign up from ACCA, Accenture, AstraZeneca, BP, EY, HSBC, Jardine Matheson, JCB, KPMG, NATS, Neptune Energy, Pearson, Prudential, Santander, Scotch Whisky Association, Shell, Society of Motor Manufacturers & Trader and the Training Gateway, among others.

UKABC’s next Digital Conversation is with Jon Lambe, Her Majesty’s Ambassador to ASEAN on 15 April.
