The UK-ASEAN Business Council (UKABC) hosted Ian Gibbons, Head of DIT Vietnam, for an intensive programme of meetings and calls on his recent trip to the UK.

Ian’s packed schedule ranged from understanding international education provider Pearsons’ exciting plans for the region; briefing the Society of Maritime Industries who are visiting Vietnam later this month with a trade delegation; 1-2-1 meetings with a cross-section of SMEs excited by the market; and hosting a roundtable event at British Expertise International to update their members.

After completing his tour-of-duty with the UKABC, Ian said “These are exciting times. Thanks to UKABC I’ve met lots of really interesting British companies this week. These companies have a real chance of winning business in Vietnam, and they can capitalise on the increasing number of opportunities presenting themselves by coming out to the market. What I would say though is don’t do it alone. Speak to UKABC in the UK, my DIT team, and the British Business Group in Vietnam, who collectively work together to maximise the opportunities in Vietnam”.
