British Chamber of Commerce Indonesia
Over the past few weeks, the British Chamber of Commerce Indonesia (BritCham Indonesia) has been busy expanding their networks across the Indonesian food and drink sector. From the 22-25 of November, BritCham presented the Britain is GREAT Pavilion at SIAL Interfood. The exhibition was a collaboration between two influential powers in the food and beverage industry: SIAL Group, the world’s largest food exhibition network with 50 years of experience, and Interfood, the leading food and beverage exhibition in Indonesia. Alongside this, the GREAT Pavilion boasted five British food and drink companies who traveled from the UK and are making progress with their expansion in Indonesia. This year has been an unprecedented success, with each client certain to go to next base in their pursuit of partners for market access. These testimonials are clear – Indonesia is difficult, but not too difficult for F&B and retail and BritCham Indonesia is a great cost-effective resource.
All of the companies utilised the services of BritCham’s Overseas Partner Delivery team, which operates as a delivery partner for the British Embassy in Jakarta. The OPD’s services have proven to be an excellent research tool for companies entering the market, as well as essential for sourcing meetings with filtered stakeholders and facilitating the GREAT Pavilion at seven exhibitions per year. During SIAL Interfood, Chris Wren, CEO of BritCham Indonesia, had the privilege of interviewing representatives from The Waterfalls Brand and Somerdale International Ltd. Following this success, BritCham Indonesia hosted an afternoon seminar running alongside the exhibition, entitled ‘Opportunities & Challenges for Imported F&B Products in Retail Markets in Indonesia’, which took place at Le Meridien Hotel Jakarta with over 60 attendees.
