The UK-ASEAN Business Council in partnership with British Expertise International and the Department of International Trade hosted two business opportunities seminars in London and Manchester. The seminars were concentrated sessions led by the Procurement Directors from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), The World Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

Both seminars were well attended by consultants and major contractors across several sectors and helped them to understand the procurement policies deployed by the banks for these aid-funded opportunities. £2.02 billion is already allocated in the pipeline for 2020 on major infrastructure and urban development projects.

Aid-funded business are commercial opportunities borne out of assistance programmes by multilateral development banks and organisations. Institutions like the Asian Development Bank have a wide development portfolio across Southeast Asia, generating business opportunities in key sectors and themes.
