On 17-18 May, the UK-ASEAN Business Council was thrilled to exhibit at Going Global Live in the London ExCel Centre. Over the two days more than 3,300 visitors came through the doors looking for advice and information on how to take their businesses overseas, or increase their foothold in the international marketplace, and they found it!

The energy in the hall was palpable as 1-2-1 networking and connections clicked into place throughout the hall. Going Global Live and FDI have reaffirmed themselves as a place where businesses and individuals can attend to find all the advice, products, information, and assistance that they need to take their businesses into the international market whether they are SMEs up to established businesses.

Both of UKABC’s new ASEAN Export Specialists got to speak with a great number and variety of businesses eager to learn more about the opportunities in Southeast Asia. We hope that the attendees enjoyed the show as much as we did, and gained the valuable insights and connections necessary to start or progress their export journey.

Geoff Charlesworth also presented to a packed seminar room on why ASEAN should be the number one priority for exporters. Impressed with the amount of people following up afterwards, Geoff commented that the “quality and volume of customers was excellent”.

Ross Hunter, Executive Director for UKABC, said it was a “great show, lots of positive attitudes towards exporting and a thirst to learn more, especially about Southeast Asia. A real mix of companies were able to speak with our ASEAN Export Specialists to help them on their journey, from household British names like Twinings through to companies that had never considered ASEAN as an export destination before speaking with us.”
