Thiri Thant Mon is a Myanmar national who had an international career in finance and investment banking with some of the world’s leading institutions. Thiri is a native of Yangon who was educated in Myanmar, the US and the UK. She returned to Myanmar in 2013 as Head of Corporate Development at Yoma Strategic holdings, a Singapore-listed Myanmar conglomerate.
Before returning to her home country, she was an experienced investment banker at Morgan Stanley in the UK specialising in raising multi-billion debt financings and large-scale interest rate hedging for large European financial institutions. She started her career in 2000 with Capital One in the US and managed the credit risk forecasting for the UK and European businesses. Thiri holds a degree in Economics from William & Mary and a MBA from the London Business School.
