Webinar: UK-PH Knowledge Sharing Session on Digital Education for K-12

About this event

The UK Government’s Department for International Trade will bring together resource persons to share innovations and capabilities in digital education for K12 that can contribute to ensuring your academic institutions remain robust in providing high-quality education amidst the pandemic.

At the onset of the COVID-19 outbreak, schools were compelled to immediately switch to the virtual delivery of lessons, and as such, accelerated the need for effective online lessons, content, and platforms for successful digital learning. Whilst face-to-face classes may slowly commence in limited and particular settings in the country, the integration of information technology in education is seen to continue and online education will eventually become an integral component of school education.

Successful virtual learning entails providing a range of approaches, assessment options and digital resources, as appropriate to the circumstances, ages, and capability of the students, all key considerations to ensuring high-quality education. In the long term, ineffective learning will impact future income, productivity, and competitiveness.

This UK-PH Knowledge Sharing Session will demonstrate UK Edtech solutions for levels K to 12. The session will provide introductions to a small number of British companies and provide insight into innovations and capabilities in digital education. Select case studies will feature how these digital applications, approaches and platforms contribute to robust and resilient educational practices.

The event is hosted by British Embassy Manila – Department for International Trade in collaboration with the Department of Education through the Information and Communications Technology Service – Educational technology Unit (ICTS-EdTech).
