REGISTER FOR REGULAR UPDATES

“Filipinnovation will remain central to sustaining our competitiveness and national development through this pandemic and beyond” Ramon Lopez, Philippines Trade Secretary

Overview

In the Global Innovation Index 2020 Report by the World Intellectual Property Organisation, the Philippines achieved its highest rank and joined the top 50 best-performing countries in innovation. It was cited as an example of how the global innovation landscape is shifting, with dynamic countries such as the Philippines consistently on the rise.

The Philippines is a resilient country and against the many challenges placed on the economy, the country has responded with an explosion of innovation. The Philippines is developing new capabilities to meet the demands of a global pandemic and is innovating its way back to economic recovery.  One example is the development of the ‘Pintig Lab, in partnership with the UNDP, designed to take the Nation’s pulse and socio-economic health. The pandemic has accelerated efforts already being implemented underpinned by the Philippine Innovation Act 2019.

Join us in a webinar to learn how the Philippine government and the business sector have stepped up in the fight against COVID-19 through investment in technology, new product innovations and expansion of manufacturing capabilities and why it is a dynamic destination to do business with. Our panel of speakers are at the forefront of the Philippines’ technology and innovation drive, have an in-depth understanding of the skills of the workforce and lead companies that demonstrate successful collaborations with UK and other global companies.

This Digital Conversation is brought to you by the UK-ASEAN Business Council, the Philippines Department of Trade and Industry and the Board of Investments.
