EVENT LOCATION
Vietnam
Vietnam has been maintaining an average growth rate of 6.5% GDP in the first three quarters of 2018. To continue to develop this strong growth the country has been investing significantly in developing infrastructure with airport development being one of the top priorities.
According to IATA, Vietnam is one of the fastest growing aviation markets globally with an average growth rate of 17.4% over the last decade. This is far higher than the 7.9% growth in Asia-Pacific. Vietnam’s Ministry of Transport plans to spend US$15bn to develop aviation infrastructure across 23 airports that will have a combined annual 144 million passengers by 2020.
The expansion plan for Tan Son Nhat (over $1bn) has been approved by the Government and this project implementation takes priority. A Feasibility Study for the brand new International Airport Long Thanh ($16bn) is being conducted. Plans are also in place for the expansion of Noi Bai ($3.7bn) and a number of Tier 2 airports.
