About this event
The British Embassy in Hanoi is collaborating with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to co-organise a hybrid event to promote the UK-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (UKVFTA) with a focus on green and fair trade opportunities with Vietnam on 7th March 2023 in both virtual and in-person format.
The seminar provides a platform for discussion on the UK’s green and fair trade with Vietnam through the UKVFTA, commitments on renewable energy generation, plans to implement these commitments and opportunities/challenges in renewable energy development in Vietnam.
In the UKVFTA, Chapter 7 on ‘Non-Tariff Barriers to Trade and Investment in Renewable Energy Generation’ covers specific rules for the renewable energy sector on non-discriminatory treatment in general (licensing and authorisation procedures), on local content in particular and further on the use of international standards.
This event will provide a platform for UK-Vietnam policymakers and businesses in the renewable energy sector to discuss and share best practices on legislation and policy progress to comply with the commitments in this Chapter.
