The Myanmar government is prioritising renewable energy development and working to improve the commercial environment for foreign investment in Myanmar. The present electrification rate is 55% but with an ambitious target of 100% access by 2030, the government needs to make progress.

Power generation from renewable energy is growing significantly from 1% in 2019 to a predicted 14% in 2021. The required investment is estimated at GBP 2.55 billion between 2021- 2025.
