Join Asia House for a conference on the Philippines investment climate as the country goes to the polls this May for presidential elections. Once dubbed the ‘sick man of Asia’, the country has become one of the most resilient economies in Asia with sound economic fundamentals. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) expects the economy to grow by 6% in 2016. Private consumption and investment are expected to maintain solid growth in 2016. But will the momentum be maintained as political dynamics change?
Confirmed Speaker: Cesar V. Purisima, Financial Secretary of the Philippines
This conference will see Cesar V. Purisima, Financial Secretary of the Philippines, who is said to be the helmsman behind the transformation, in discussion with Asia House Chief Executive, Michael Lawrence, on the current and future outlook of the Philippine economy. This will be followed by a panel bringing together high-level corporate representatives.
This conference is organised in partnership with the Philippine Embassy in London.
