The Vietnam UK Network is hosting the 3rd ‘Joint ASEAN Societies Reception’ as an online event. As in previous years, this is a gathering to celebrate UK-ASEAN links. The network covers a variety of topics, including trade and investment, education, tourism, and cultural links.
During the online reception, there will also be a chance to be updated on important developments in the region such as the signage of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) Trade Agreement, signed on 15 November 2020 by the 10 ASEAN countries plus China, Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand, arguably the world’s largest free trade agreement.
There is a widespread view across the various UK-ASEAN societies and groups that a lot can be done to improve even more the UK-ASEAN links.
The societies taking part in this year’s reception include:

In addition to attendees from the above societies and invited guests, there will also be representatives from ASEAN Embassies and High Commissions.

Cultural Performances
Cambodia (Chair of ASEAN in 2022 ) will be providing the cultural entertainment at the event. Miss Sy Naet Nin, a young ballerina on a dance scholarship in London will be performing for us as well as dancers from the Khmer Inheritance Artists Association in Phnom Penh.
