Food and Beverage Industry Forum

Opportunities in the Philippine food and beverage Sector

Contributing 50 percent to the country’s total manufacturing output, the Philippines’ food and beverage industry continues to sustain its growth over the past years. In 2015, it comprised 43.5 per cent of the final household consumption expenditure. About 90 per cent of food and beverage manufacturing output is consumed domestically and with the fast expansions of malls/ supermarkets, annual average growth in the grocery retail sector increased to 7 per cent.

The country’s consumption-driven economy, large consumer base and expanding upper and middle classes have opened more opportunities for imported food and beverage products. Three of the major imported products are cereals, feedstuff, and dairies. The country also takes pride for its word class local products like coconut oil and fruits that are exported and highly patronised in the global market.

The British Chamber of Commerce Philippines’ food and beverage forum aims to gather the key players from the industry including the local SMEs and public sector representatives to discuss the current industry developments, business opportunities and import/ export challenges.
