Extend Your Global Reach is a unique programme which helps your company secure new international business in the high-growth markets of Latin America, Southeast Asia, China and India, through intensive commercial and strategic assistance.
The Department for International Trade (DIT) is offering preliminary 1-to-1 meetings with our Southeast Asia Market Specialist, Shozey Jafferi, to discuss the market, your entry plans and details of the support available.
With over a decade of successfully managing engineering companies whilst living in Central and Southeast Asia, Shozey is now using his experience to support companies through the Extend Your Global Reach programme. He provides hands-on support to SMEs in the Southwest of England seeking to exploit the opportunities on offer in Southeast Asia. This is provided through direct business development and commercial support, and by tapping into his extensive regional network of business contacts. Research and further in-market support is provided through our trade support partners in the region.
Over a period of up to two years, the locally based market specialists and ‘in-market’ delivery partners will work closely with your team to deliver a comprehensive market entry strategy, from inception through to execution. Support is tailored to company needs and can include:
- Assessment of viability and competitiveness of product/service
- Market readiness and market entry planning
- Defining of market research and facilitating in-territory support
- Commercial risk assessment, pricing and marketing strategy
- Identifying and developing contacts
- Evaluation of the viability of opportunities
- Market visit support to meet prospective buyers/distributors
- Business development and sales support
- Negotiations and post-sales support to ensure export market sustainability
Extend Your Global Reach is available to South West SMEs with at least £2m annual turnover and sufficient resources to invest into market entry.

Ewen Macgregor, Bond Dickinson Partner, is able to advise on compliance and regulatory aspects of exporting (e.g. trade restrictions, exporting licencing, anti-corruption protocols and product safety requirements).
